In September, council members agreed to provide the developers of a downtown hotel with incentives that will include $1½ million in payments and a 75-percent property tax break for 15 years. Earlier this month, the council decided to give $200,000 in incentives over five years to a developer who is renovating a downtown office building where a textile company, WestPoint Home LLC, is moving dozens of its office employees. The city expects to receive more than $300,000 in revenue from the expansion of the company's facilities on East Greenville Street. The Anderson City Council unanimously approved an economic development agreement this week with Labtech Diagnostics that calls for the company to receive five annual payments of $69,000.
